NHIDC Annual
Meeting Highlights
The New Hampshire
Interior Design Coalition (NHIDC) held its Annual
Meeting and Reception on September 27, 2007 at the
Historic Kimball-Jenkins mansion in Concord, New
Hampshire showcasing its continued work toward
professional standards for qualified interior designers
in New Hampshire.
An unusually warm late September evening
welcomed NHIDC members and their guests as they
met to introduce their new Title Act which is
currently in Legislative Services for review.
The evening was catered with cash bar by
Hampshire’s Culinary Planning and Event Design
with sumptuous hot and cold hors d’ oeuvres.
The meeting
was called to order by NHIDC President, Maria P.
Perron who welcomed members and guests and
introduced officers Carolyn Trombly, Vice
President; Kathy Loffredo, Treasurer; Julie
Wood, Secretary who was unable to attend and
Board of Directors, Alma Yoss, Kim Harkins,
Marcia Gouveia and Nicole Schaeffner. In
attendance to facilitate launching of the NHIDC
title act was lobbyist, Tim Fortier of the
McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton law firm
in Concord. Bill sponsor House Representative
Jane Wood was introduced and took the floor
detailing the process of a bill entered into
legislature.
Special
guest, Diane Hanley, IIDA, Vice President
Government and Regulatory Affairs, New England
Chapter was introduced and spoke briefly on
interior design legislation, why it’s important
and the role designers have in their future. A
copy of the proposed legislation was handed to
guests and a meeting open to the public was
promised by Ms. Perron in early November to
discuss various aspects of the bill. Guests were
encouraged to go online to www.nhidc.org to
check for meeting time and place.
